Lucky Four Leaf CloverSt. Patty's Day Parade

Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in downtown Blue Ridge. Dress festive and walk the parade with our float, and crazy costume attire, the greener the better! The parade will go on rain or shine and right near the playground for added entertainment for the kids. Starts at 11:00 am on East and West Main street downtown.
 

Wine Highway Week

Travelers will receive a collectors’ glass and Passport, giving admission to ALL participating wineries at no additional charge. This is a great way to enjoy award-wining wines while exploring the gorgeous views and rolling hills of the Georgia Mountains wine country.
 

Bigfoot Expedition Lecture Series

Bigfoot and UFO enthusiasts from all over the globe converge at The Sasquatch Museum in Blue Ridge for 2 hours of lectures, sketches, and investigative information and updates. 

APRIL

Blue Ridge Mountain Adventure Race

Eighty coed teams of three will hike, mountain bike, run and kayak in the Chattahoochee National Forest this April. The adventure race begins at a secret location in the Chattahoochee National Forest and ends in Downtown Blue Ridge City Park, with live music, food .and the finish line. MAY

Annual Arts in the Park Festival

This is at Memorial Day Weekend every year. This event is sponsored by the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association. 10:00 am - 5:00 pm come rain or shine, admission just $5 and children are admitted free. This is the perfect way to start off the summer. Fine arts, crafts, artist demonstrations, crafts for the kids, mountain music and great food.

Pickin' in the Park

May thru September Casual jam sessions for acoustic musicians are held under the trees and pavilions along the Toccoa River at Ron Henry Horseshoe Bend Park every Thursday evening from 6 pm to dusk beginning May 26 through the end of September. Free admission to musicians of all levels and listeners who appreciate good mountain music. Bring your picnic supper and enjoy the music down by the river.

Old Timers Day

On the Saturday closest to July 4th, The Blue Ridge Business Association sponsors the Older Timers Day celebration and parade in Downtown Blue Ridge, GA. There will be local crafts, good eats, ice cream and entertainment to enjoy this July 4th.

Miners Homecoming

Every Fourth of July weekend the Miners homecoming takes place in Ducktown, TN. At dark thirty on a chosen night around July 4th, an old-fashioned Independence Day fireworks display will be shot from Tater Hill in downtown McCaysville-Copperhill.

AUGUST

Smokey Bear's Birthday

Good ole storytelling, face painting, puppet show and game for the children. Plus the children will get to see Smokey the Bear (you know..only you can prevent forest fires).

Blue Ridge Kiwanis Club Rodeo

A real western rodeo is coming to the North Georgia Mountains. The Blue Ridge Kiwanis are bringing the rodeo to town with traditional bull riding, saddle bronco riding, calf roping, bareback, steer wrestling, team roping, barrel racing and special events. Great food and good times for all ages.

Labor Day BBQ

Blues & BBQ Festival

Family Fishing Festival

Learn how to tie flies, improve your cast by taking in some casting demonstrations, enjoy some educational exhibits and then catch plenty of trout at Rock Creek near the hatchery. The fish hatchery raises over 1 million rainbow trout to stock the local North Georgia Mountain streams, creeks, and rivers.

Annual Georgia Apple Festival

When fall rolls around, visitors and locals flock to local apple orchards for fun fall festivals for the whole family. Ellijay's annual apple festival is perhaps the most well-known of the bunch, and is the perfect event to ring in fall in the Blue Ridge mountains.

Turkey Trot

Get the family motivated and work off calories before the big turkey dinner with a 5K family run/walk on Thanksgiving morning in downtown Blue Ridge.
 

Light Up Blue Ridge

Saturday After Thanksgiving - Start the holidays in the picture-perfect town of Blue Ridge at this traditional Christmas festival on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, and take time to hear what kids want for Christmas. Enjoy Christmas lights thoughout downtown, and be sure to stick around for the lighting of the great tree, complete with Chrismas caroling! Find out more >>

Nov 29-30, 2019 - What's more fun than cutting your own Christmas tree? Select your own fresh Christmas tree at Southern Tree Plantation in Blairsville. There are fun activities for kids, hayrides, a petting farm, train and pony rides. 

DECEMBER

Christmas Train Rides

 Treat your family to a festive Christmas train ride on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, November 23 through December 24. Sing Christmas carols and visit with Santa and his elves on this shorter version of the railway’s excursion from Blue Ridge to McCaysville. 

Christmas Parade
