The recreation area sits on the shores of Lake Blue Ridge and the day use area offers secluded swimming, hiking trails, picnicking, boating, and fishing. You can also rent Kayaks & paddle boards and purchase snacks, souvenirs, and supplies at The Point.

Whether you stay here or take a quick trip to the small neighboring town of Mineral Bluff, make sure to stop by the shores of the Toccoa River. Enjoy the riverside scenery and quiet surroundings or maybe take a dip, toss a fishing line or explore by river craft. Mineral Bluff’s charm is it’s remote feel, while being a short drive to Blue Ridge.

If you are visiting at the begging of July, we highly recommend checking out the Historic Mineral Bluff Depot. During this time, the depot does it’s annual “Ride the Rails” fundraiser to benefit Tri-State Model Railroaders and the Historic Mineral Bluff Depot. Head inside and see all the progress on the large “HO Scale” model railroad based on the L&N railroad’s “Old Line”. Then ride a railroad motor car for 5 miles, followed by being able to take a shot at how well you can pump a railroad hand car.

If you want to be close to nature, check out some mountain kayaking, as the Toccoa River has several locations near Mineral Bluff where the waters are slower and are perfect for taking the family kayaking and tubing for the day. If getting wet is not your forte, discover riding horseback on 250 acres of private mountain land. Appalachian Trail Rides provides horseback riding and eco-friendly guided trail rides through the forest of Mineral Bluff.
