Spring

Spring in North Georgia is a special time, especially in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Take advantage of visiting the mountains when everything is in bloom and wildlife begins to come out of hiding. Plan a visit during Spring Break to experience it all! During this time of year, the temperatures range from 50 degrees to 70 degrees during the day and from 40 degrees to 50 degrees at night.

Summer

Summertime in the Blue Ridge Mountains is hard to beat. With warm sunny days and pleasant nights, it is the perfect time to enjoy the many outdoor activities the area offers. In the summer, enjoy floating along the river, boating on the lake or hiking in the mountains. During the day, the temperature typically reaches about 90 degrees. During the night, it cools off to about 60 degrees.

Fall

During the fall, the changing foliage offers magnificent colors for viewing. Hiking during the fall is a very special experience. Georgia's Blue Ridge is a hiking paradise, with long and short trails, including the famous Appalachian Trail which begins here. Winter

Blue Ridge gets regular snowfalls during the winter, which is perfect for sipping hot cocoa and participating in winter activities. Winter is the time for crystal clear mountain air, big vistas from our amazing trails, and scenic drives through the gorgeous mountains to remote trailheads. How to Pack for the Blue Ridge Mountains

This can be tricky as the weather can be unpredictable. However, a safe bet at all times of year is comfortable jeans, layers and a fleece for cool evenings in the spring, summer and moving into fall. Fall can be rainy and wet so umbrellas, wellies, and water-resistant jackets are highly recommended.
